Dad (Stig) picked Gabe up from the trail north of LA and they spent a couple of days at Venice Beach eating, resting and soaking in the scene.

Sunday, May 18^th - PCT day 29

Good ~17 mile walk to where Dad picked me up at Mill Creek Fire Station. Got there ~2:00 pm & Dad got me ~4:30 pm. Very great to see him again. Went down & checked into the hotel, right on Venice Beach. Got some great steak & a turkey melt for dinner. Drum circle outside our window was cool. Went till ~10:00 pm.

Monday, May 19^th - PCT day 30

Had breakfast on the boardwalk then read for a while. Got some amazing tacos for lunch w/ hibiscus drink. Had some very good miso black cod, truffle fries (best I’ve ever had), & shrimp for dinner. Neal came to visit, which was fun.
