Monday, May 26th - PCT Day 36
Up at 2:00 AM today, left by 2:40. It was very windy and dark as it is almost the new moon. That did mean that the Milky Way was visible though, which was beautiful. By the time the sun started to come up I was pretty much across the valley and headed east. The sunrise was spectacular, made me think of Far Far. Soon after the sun was up the wind started and damn was it some wind; 30 - 40 maybe even 50 mph gusts. It was blowing so hard some of the turbines were turned off, and I had to walk straight into it for ~9 miles uphill. I loved it though. I had to shout w/ the pure exhilaration at being alive and in the prime of my life, able to handle any hardship.

Thursday, May 29th - PCT Day 39
Got another gift this morning, a possible spear (atlatl?) point in the dust right next to the water.Had to carry 4.8 L of water for a 20-mile dry stretch which wasn’t too fun. Kinda on the struggle bus for the end of the day. More cool rock formations today; in particular the vesicular basalt which contained agates. Found a nice lightly banded, light blue agate the size of an egg. Camping at Robin Bird Spring w/ Half-Strap(?) Manzanita and his wife. Half-Strap gave me two drinks at camp, which was nice. It’s his birthday tomorrow. Tasty dinner. Goodnight. Also it was Luke’s birthday today!
